“The Visionists” were a circle of young artists in Boston in the 1890s.  Though the group has been nearly forgotten, its members left an important legacy through the work they created and the people they inspired.

This site and the “The Visionists of Boston” documentary were created by Josh Kastorf to re-introduce the world to this circle, and to inspire those working to keep Boston a special place for the arts.  Please feel free to get in touch at josh@kastorf.net if you have an interest in these artists or related subjects.

The documentary and the text on this site are (c) 2016 Josh Kastorf.  The images are used with permission of the owners, or come from institutions that allow this type of use.  If you re-use them, please credit them properly!  Please support museums, libraries, and archives that make resources available online, without which this project would not be possible.
